Lifestream?

Combining your content from multiple sources- Lifestream. I get it, but I hate the term. Does anyone have a better term than “lifestream”?

jQuery isn’t exactly new, but I’m really starting to dig it. You see it just about everywhere, typically in the form of canned effects. However over time I think you’ll see increasingly innovative UI patterns emerge a people get their head around it.

The Real Shaq about being real

When Stars Twitter, a Ghost May Be Lurking - NYTimes.com

“In January 2009 the song “Don’t Upset The Rythm” appeared on the advert for the Mazda 2” Noisettes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. I hate it when people complain about artists selling out. Everyone is entitled to profit, but c’mon, Mazda? That bugs.
“…hoping to get a feel for something you simply can’t portray: personal experience. This is not the way to do it. You’ll find that you can never be satisfied with anything if you know everything about it. Sometimes the joy you get out of a product is in the serendipity of finding a delicious little gem of a feature that you had no idea existed.” jeffrock.com  talking about consumer product reviews. However if you expand this idea, it’s exactly the reason why I never, ever read album reviews.

Amtrak observations

Real estate near the tracks is maybe not prime. The further north you go the more big giant awnings you see on houses- I like that. Converting rundown indutrial space into swanky lofts isn’t as widespread as you might think. They could have put the southbound tracks over a foot or two.

My new favorite way to travel

Amtrak. The seats are huge, it’s quiet and each seat has an outlet so you plug in your floorlamp or toaster or whatever. And no one even tried to find my shoe bomb.

Logitech now tapes this little note inside the MX Revolution’s packaging. So many people (myself included, twice — I own two) were having trouble getting the mouse out of the clamshell that Logitech had to do something.

And rather than redesign the packaging to be usable, they stuck these little notes in there instead. It’s as much of a “solution” as Microsoft’s amazing “Did you notice the Information Bar?” dialog.

I distinctly remember staring at the clamshell, trying to figure out how to extract the mouse cleanly. It cost enough, I didn’t want to break the damn thing.

Why does this happen in Google Chrome? Marco?
I think GC + opacity + anti-aliasing don’t mix well.

Ahh just what we need when when Explorer starts to behave fairly alright, another browser that doesn’t comply with the standards.

No kidding- and GC is no longer in beta?!?! How does that slip through the cracks?

Village Green

Looking into the poster I reblogged last night, I found it was done by Village Green who has some pretty awesome work.

A brief interview with the designer is equally as interesting.
